Special Session on Complex network for sustainability

This session theme Complex Network for Sustainability is intended to explore the role and impact of the complex network for making our world more sustainable: reducing energy and material resources consumption, increasing quality of life for ever more people without compromising future generations' ability to meet their needs. Papers related to Complex Network for Sustainability in a broad sense such as Sustainability by Complex Network, Sustainability in Complex Network and their overarching aspects are welcome.

Topics Include (but are not limited to) the following examples that all ought to discuss complex network research and their implications in sustainability:

  • Complex network for energy efficiency of smart homes, buildings and cities
  • Complex network for energy efficient industrial environments and processes
  • Complex network for energy efficient computations and communications
  • Complex network for sustainable mobility, transport, and logistics
  • Complex network for smart power grids and energy systems
  • Complex network for water, agriculture, food distribution and logistics, waste reduction, tracking and provenance
  • Complex network for healthcare include health monitoring and healthy lifestyle support systems, disease detection and monitoring, assistive technologies, health care information systems
  • Complex network for underwater monitoring and communications
  • Complex network in disaster monitoring, rescue and recovery
  • Complex network for monitoring and conservation of biodiversity
  • Complex network for geo-hazard monitoring e.g., landslides, earthquakes and tsunami
  • Complex network of crowdsourcing solutions for sustainability
  • Complex network for urban sustainability

Important Dates

  • Paper Submission Deadline: March 20, 2016 April 03, 2016 (extended)
  • Notification of acceptance: May 4, 2016
  • Camera Ready and Registration: May 19, 2016
  • Conference Dates: August 2-4, 2016

Submission instructions:

Authors who are interested in the above topics can submit their unpublished work to Special Session on Complex network for sustainability in CSoNet2016 via the Springer Online Conference System at https://ocs.springer.com/ocs/home/CSoNet2016. A clear indication of the motivation and comparison with prior related work should be presented. Simultaneous submissions to a journal or another conference with refereed proceedings are not allowed.

Submitted papers should be prepared in LNCS style and should not exceed 12 pages. Each paper is to be submitted electronically as a single PDF file through the Springer Online Conference System. Please read carefully Springer's instructions on preparing the manuscript.

Note that proofs omitted due to space constraints must be placed in an appendix to be read by the program committee members at their discretion. All accepted papers must be presented by one of the authors who must register for the conference and pay the fee.

The proceedings of CSoNet 2016 will be published by Springer in series Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) and will be distributed at the conference. Selected papers can be invited to publish in special issues of Journal of Combinatorial Optimization (ISI) and Computational Social Networks (Springer).
